fab finishing!

look at the pretties i got to pick up over the weekend!

i made a goal that i would try and send 2 projects to the finisher after a big completion, so that my finish pile becomes more manageable and that i stay accountable for finishing what i started! (literally)

NOW it's a finish!

i am beyond thrilled to have this little piggy completely stitched!

i fretted over how to finish this, frame it? pillow? stand-up?

in the end, i think i'll hang it on a cabinet or a door, maybe with a fun tassel underneath?


my next nativity canvas hasn't arrived yet, so i feel like sinking my teeth into another new project...what should it be?

a piggy (almost) finish!

ok ok, technically it's not a finish since i'm still working the background, but it's serious progress!

instead of beating myself up about all the "coulda, woulda, shoulda" aspects of this piece, i'm just going with the flow and taking deep breaths.

i'm glad i was able to practice more of my ribbon roses, i think they turned out ok!

i went back and forth on background options. but at the end of the day, there is so much going on that i didn't want to distract from that. thoughts on the pink? love it? hate it?

i'm alive

not a lot of time for stitching this weekend, so i'll leave you with a few pictures of my progress on the pig's body. hoping to finish the last component tonight, but who knows

piggy progress!

when we last saw this little piggy, i had only completed the face and ears..

i picked it up this weekend and put in the kalem stitch in two colors on the saddle, followed by alternating tent stitch on the saddle strap (outlined in kreinik)

(body stitch is still a work in progress)

this is why i love stitch guides and stitch suggestions. in looking at the painted canvas (below), i would have never thought to do alternating tent on the saddle strap, but i'm in LOVE with it!

a new start!

while i await my next nativity canvas, i decided to pull out an 

old friend that i've been dying to start!

so far i've completed most of the face and this weekend i hope to make serious progress
