fabulous finishing!

there's nothing like a box of finished needlepoint to make the week better!

earlier this year i stitched crab salad, and ballooning santa (both by the princess and me)

take a peek at the stitchy finished goodness!

a huge thanks to adornment needlepoint for the spectacular job! i love them oh so very much!

NOW it's a finish!

i am beyond thrilled to have this little piggy completely stitched!

Patti Mann pig

i fretted over how to finish this, frame it? pillow? stand-up?

in the end, i think i'll hang it on a cabinet or a door, maybe with a fun tassel underneath?

my next nativity canvas hasn't arrived yet, so i feel like sinking my teeth into another new project...what should it be?

a friday finish (finally!)

i was able to finish this up last night, and now i'm happy dancing my way into the weekend!

the background seemed to plague me this time around. not sure if it seemed longer because i was traveling, or because there was more space to cover. in any case, i was more than happy to trade the navy floss for memory thread!

here's how my girl first looked after i tacked down the memory thread...

Princess & Me nativity

and after i curled the thread around my needle...

Princess & Me nativity

i'm purposely keeping the hair longer until it comes back from the finisher when i can trim it and fluff up the curls. the great thing about memory thread is that you can play and bend to your heart's content, so this will be ongoing fun!

what do you think?

holiday stitching...it's a wrap!

my holiday stitching is complete and we can now go back to our  previously scheduled nativity club programming!

i put the final stitches in the last candy cane last night and promptly dragged the others out for a stitchy photo-shoot.

i used bronze beads for the lettering to play off the UT burnt orange and i love the finished product

seeing double!

i'm seeing double this morning and i like it!

i managed to stitch up the second TCU candy cane this weekend and after a quick stop at the lns, i was properly equipped to bead!

so i know i mentioned last week that i was just going to tent stitch the letters for my parents' gifts and bead my own...but that plan was out the door after the first beaded letter was completed. it was too cute to deny anyone the joy of having their very own candy cane with beaded letters!

Carol Dupree TCU candy cane

so i ripped out the tent stitches and beaded that one too!

finito!

i finished up the letters for the first candy cane (1 of 3 holiday gifts for my parents)

Carol Dupree TCU candy cane

i tried the beads i have in my stash, but the size 11's weren't looking right. a trip to the lns will fix that! i'll save the bead-work for my two candy canes, since i'm not entirely certain my mother will know how to properly store these needlepoint creations, so i'm keeping it simple.

1 down. 4 more to go! since i already have my purple and white thread out, i'm going to try busting through the other tcu cane this weekend. deja vu stitching anyone?

have a fantastic weekend!

a deja vu finish

the stocking is officially ready to go to the finishers, with NO detours!

i decided to replace the beads with sundance sparkles to give it more of a garland vibe

it adds the dimensional quality to the stocking without taking attention away from the main lady. i actually considered just removing the sparkles and beads and leaving it completely empty, but the spacing looks weird.

i'm BEYOND ready for this stocking to go away to the finisher and come back completed in time for christmas...

to be perfectly honest, seeing the stitched version of this camel was the sole reason i joined this club! i am itching to start this soon!

another nativity finish!

it's like i said...this club is like crack! i just can't stop!

Princess & Me nativity
"mary"

here was my progress as of friday night...i originally stitched her white dress in the ivory ribbon floss leftover from the first king. but the color just wasn't white enough. it was then that i actually found the correct white silk lame braid that the stitch guide called for!!! so i had to frog it and re-stitch (ugh) but now i'm so pleased with the finished product!

Princess & Me nativity

i may or may not have started on the next canvas...
can you guess who it is?

i'm on a roll!

happy valentine's day! to help kick off this holiday, i present to you...

the first nativity finish!

Princess & Me nativity

this is the first wiseman, and i absolutely love him! the stitch guide was so easy to read, and because of the small size, the stitching flew by!

i'm already half-way through the next canvas...maybe another weekend finish?
